It's kind of like the sesame street which one of these doesn't belong game -
El Franco Lee II is a baffling choice with pretty weak looking work, especially when placed next to all the others.
Big Ups to Newsum, he's been in the shadows far too long. I'll take El Franco over Jabari or Mequitta any day of the week.
it's a weird variety. sort of naive stuff mixed in with highbrow. very few white dudes in there. i think there's just one. hmm. this one should be interesting.

I'm not white or black or a competitor for the artadia grant. If you think there are not enough white people on the finalist list you should know 200 people applied for this grant. There were bound to be some white people in there. Dont you think? Consciously anti- white... I dont think so!

El Franco Lee II is not a "baffling choice" .... you obviously dont know good art when you see it. Maybe you should have stopped by the NEXUS TEXAS exhibit last fall at the CAM, where his work was presented. He's the best artist chosen this year, he'll win.
