Bill Davenport sez:

I just got back from dropping off my Mushroom Forest at Auditorium Shores park in Austin for the Texas Biennial. It survived the trip from Houston intact, and, barring disasters, will be on view alongside Riverside Drive for months to come. While we were unloading, a couple stopped and asked if they could have their picture taken with it!

Mistletoe has been a symbol of peace and forgiveness for centuries.

For Leona Scull-Hons' newest interactive installation she has invited
the community to use her installation as a place to meet, kiss, forgive,
and embrace friends or foes under a mistletoe ceiling at Cactus Bra.

For the last six years, Leona has focused on relationships by creating
installations and arranging events for social interactions to occur. Her
work is dependent upon audience participation, but it is equally as powerful
when there is lack of participation. Leona concentrates on the subtleties of
rituals that connect and disconnect us as a community.

Win, Lose or FAIL

A copycat of David Hammons' 1983 performance art piece Bliz-aard Ball Sale ended up on the FAIL blog this week, proving that if you know your LOLcats, you probably don't know your art history :)
